The cover is very easy to install and it seals well. For most uses it will work fine but if you plan to plug in a very heavy-duty cord I'd suggest that you get a deeper cover--bending a heavy cord enough to close and lock the cover will probably put too much strain on both the cord and the cover latch. But, as I said it works great for most cords.

It does everything it says, and is nothing fancy to install. you unscrew the old plate, and screw it on, then you have a waterproof, almost childproof, petproof, outlet box. its great.
AND most cords can't be pulled out so you can't be whipped.

I never wanted to use one of these types of exterior outlets due to their large size/profile for the cover. The ones at Home Depot & Lowe's are ugly, large, and fairly expensive for what you get. This one was a very fair price with a much smaller, yet comparably functional, profile.

the material are good, easy to install, no misteries, you get what you paid for!
